Who is Mr. Ferg?
Being raised in Garner, I am a Wake County native and other than living approximately four years in Orange County (Chapel Hill / Mebane), I've lived in Wake County my entire life. I started teaching at Apex High School in January of 1994. I have taught at Apex High for more than 24 years. Other places that I've worked include a semester as an assistant principal at East Millbrook and I also taught for a year at Apex Friendship High School while also serving as the Assistant Athletic Director (2016/2017). I have had many roles at Apex High School such as FCA Advisor, Student Council Advisor, School Improvement Team Chair, English Department Co-Chair, and Assistant Cross-Country Coach. Currently, I am still teaching English and I work in the athletic department (Go Cougars!).
My wife is the co-owner of Village Physical Therapy in Holly Springs where we reside. My daughter graduated from Apex High School where she was a Varsity Soccer Player and Captain of the Cross-Country team. She is married to a Marine (Air Traffic Control) and is working as a nurse at Wake Med Hospital. After graduating from Holly Springs High School in 2017 as a football and lacrosse athlete, my oldest son is now attending the United States Air Force Academy and he was a member of lacrosse team there until he joined the US Air Force Skydiving Team called the "Wings of Blue." In 2019 he and his skydiving partner won the Collegiate National Championship for tandem skydiving. My younger son is a 2020 graduate of Holly Springs High School where he was a varsity soccer player and he is also attending the Air Force Academy. Our family is involved in our church (Holly Springs United Methodist) and we enjoy exercising, cookouts with family and friends, hiking in the woods, working in the yard, attending sporting events, and going to Lake Gaston.
